Espero / I wait

Me han dejado
primero la guitarra,
después, la pintura
y luego tu.

Os espero los tres.

Al menos quedo con mi sonrisa,
con mis preguntas y palabras,
con memorias,
con deseos y sueños,
que crecen en la ausencia.

*

La ausencia que nos enseña.
Que nos hace pensar,
reflexionar,
preguntar.

La ausencia de un lienzo vacío.
La ausencia de la música
de una guitarra encerrada
en la oscuridad
de su estuche.

La ausencia de tu presencia.

They have left me.
The guitar
the painting
and after, you.

For all three of you I wait.

At least I have my smile,
I have my questions and words,
my memories,
my desires and dreams,
that grow in the absence.

*

The absence that teaches us;
That makes us think,
reflect,
question;

The absence of an empty canvas;
The absence of the music
of a guitar closed
in the darkness
of its case;

The absence of your presence.

The Lapwing

Larking about like Fools
tumbling in an unseen Circus,
lappingwings flappingwings
sloop'n'roll to that jazzy cry

Occasionally my brush
fumbles to the same rhythm
collecting thought the way the lapwing
catches its sustenance in the air.
